What covers a Neurology Consulation
What to expect

Visiting a neurologist may make you a little anxious - 'Oh I heard neurological diagnosis are bad', 'What the doctor is going to ask me', 'is he going to ask too personal details'
Of course, these questions may make you a little anxious, so I have prepared a short summary how I proceed with my consults step by step-
Bring all your prior investigations, if possible with a timeline, thats how we will be saving both time and money (by not repeating tests which are already done)
It is best to bring someone with you who stays close to you, so that a proper history is elicited. Specially if your are suspecting Dementia (memory loss) or Stroke (blood clot in the brain)
A typical neurology consult is 15 minutes (in case of headache/ vertigo/ back pain) to 45 minutes (dementia/ neuromuscular problems).
Investigations special to neurology are EEG (a test which is like ECG, but the test leads are attatched to the brain instead of the chest) - which takes around 30 minutes to complete, painless but requires patient to be still, Nerve Conduction Study (done by stimulating and checking your nerves - a little pain of electric current but easity tolerable), EMG (test done by inserting a needle in one of your muscles to diagnose muscle disease - painful but expertise will make it relatively less pain - I do it myself on my patients).
Wear loose clothes for neuromuscluar problems
