Neurologist vs Psychiatrist vs Neurosurgeon
Whom to consult for my symptoms

Due to reasons unknown, the specialities of neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry are seen in the same spectrum. May be due to considerable overlap between the symptoms dealt by each speciality or due to nomenclature ambiguity (Neuro - may be related to the nervous system). Here is a solution whom to consult.
Your symptoms - lets say you feel your right hand is weak. This can be due to a cause which can be dealt by medicine (lets say stroke), surgery (your spinal cord is compressed by a bad disc), or after ruling out all diseases we tell you that you are just depressed/ anxious - then you should see a psychiatrist. But the real problem is whom to first approach.
The solution is whomever you approach whould be trustworthy and they should not waste time in refering to the other specialist. This brings trust and reliablity to the doctor as well as best for the patient.
In summary - you have a neurological problem - is this has a medical management - consult neurologist, is this has a surgical management - consult neurosurgeon, if this has both medical and surgical - consult both. After successfully concluding out disease - refer to psychiatrist.
I hope this helps.
